Victory over West Ham sees bookmakers offer shorter odds on title glory for Man City.
Bookmakers have trimmed their odds on Manchester City winning the Premier League title following their 3-1 victory over West Ham United last night (September 28th).Having now won five of their opening six games, City are enjoying their best league start since 1961 and currently sit three points behind joint leaders Manchester United and Chelsea with a game in hand.
Responding to the latest success for Mark Hughes' side, William Hill cut its title odds on City from 10/1 to 9/1 fifth favourites, while West Ham are now 8/1 to be relegated.
"These were two sides who look to be headed for opposite ends of the table," said Graham Sharpe, spokesperson for the sports betting firm.
City striker Carlos Tevez was on target twice against his former club at Eastlands, while Martin Petrov also got the scoresheet after Carlton Cole had equalised for the east Londoners.
This weekend's Premier League fixtures see West Ham take on Fulham on Sunday, while City travel to Aston Villa next Monday.
