Bookmakers take wagers on the next football club to sign Sol Campbell.
Bookmakers are taking bets on Sol Campbell's next employer following the veteran defender's shock decision to quit Notts County.Campbell agreed a five-year deal with the League Two side in August but played just one game in a Notts County shirt - last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Morecambe - before walking out.
Sports betting firms have already priced up odds on the 35-year-old player's next club, with Newcastle United a 3/1 bet and Tottenham Hotspur available at 5/1 with Sky Bet.
"Tottenham do need a central defender and maybe Sol could be the short-term solution," said Tim Reynolds, Sky Bet's football betting spokesman.
Campbell started his career at White Hart Lane before making a controversial move across north London to join Arsenal in 2001.
Confirming the former England international's departure from Notts County today (September 23rd), executive chairman Peter Trembling said that Campbell "could not adjust to the long-term nature of the project underway" at the club.
