Newcastle United's impressive start to the Championship season has created new sports betting markets on the north-east club.

Having yet to taste defeat in the league, Newcastle currently sit top of the Championship table with 13 points from five games, having conceded just one goal so far.

Sky Bet has opened a book on which team will be the first to defeat the Tyneside outfit, with Cardiff City - Newcastle's opponents in an away fixture on September 13th - the current favourites at 5/4.

Alternatively, punters can back Blackpool to end the Magpies' unbeaten run at 7/2, while the bookmaker is also offering 16/1 on Newcastle remaining undefeated for another ten games.

Sky Bet spokesperson Dale Tempest said: "The players seem oblivious to the off-field turmoil at the club. The Toon army will be hoping manager Chris Hughton can keep his team focused on staying top of the league."

The St James' Park outfit are 4/1 to finish first, 13/2 to end up second and 7/1 to take third place in the Championship.
