Application for the iPhone will offer users a virtual tour of the casino resort.
The MGM Grand at Foxwoods casino resort in Connecticut is preparing to enter the mobile gambling market with the release of a new application for iPhone users.According to the casino operator, the application should be available to consumers later this year and will offer them access to a virtual casino based on the gaming floor at Foxwoods.
Users will also be able to enjoy feature known as the "resort experience", in which they can take a virtual tour of the various casino, hotel and spa areas.
"We are very excited to launch an MGM Grand at Foxwoods-branded iPhone application that brings us new ways to reach our loyal consumers," said Michael Speller, president of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises.
"Our goal is to continuously dazzle our guests with cutting-edge gaming and entertainment, and this state-of-the-art technology is the latest example of that," he added.
The MGM Grand at Foxwoods is part of the Foxwoods Resort Casino, which opened as a bingo hall in 1986 and is now the largest gambling venue in the world in terms of floor space.
Foxwoods offers over 6,200 slot machines and 380 live gaming tables spread over 340,000 sq ft.
