Aberdeen now has two 24-hour casinos

Aberdeen's G Casino has been granted permission to extend its opening hours.

Another gambling venue in Aberdeen has been given permission to open 24 hours a day.

The G Casino in Exchequer Row will offer round-the-clock gaming after receiving the green light to extend its opening hours into the 06:00 to 12:00 BST period, the BBC reports.

Launched in November last year, the casino offers roulette, blackjack, three-card poker and slot machines with maximum jackpots of £4,000, as well as a separate 12-table poker room.

Shortly before the grand opening, customer services manager Murray Pauline told the Evening Express that the G Casino was designed as "a venue for people to meet, have a drink and socialise with friends", as well as a place for gambling.

Aberdeen now has two venues with 24-hour gaming licences, as the Gala Casino in Summer Street was granted approval to stay open all day earlier this year.

The city council's licensing board approved Gala's application for 24-hour opening by three votes to two in March.
