Speculation surrounding Hull has seen sports betting punters back Brown to leave.
The intense speculation over Phil Brown's future at Hull City this week has caused sports betting firms to slash their odds on the manager losing his job.William Hill is no longer taking bets on Brown becoming the first top-flight boss to depart his club this season, while Sky Bet cut the 50-year-old from 7/4 to 11/10 in that market yesterday (October 29th).
The bookmaker said that money had been "pouring in" from punters expecting Brown to win the Premier League sack race, while William Hill has already installed Paul Jewell as favourite to take over at the KC Stadium.
"A loss at Burnley this weekend would surely add further pressure to what already looks a difficult situation," said Dale Tempest, Sky Bet's football betting expert.
Brown said yesterday that he remains confident of keeping his job at Hull, despite the departure of his close ally Paul Duffen, who stood down as chairman on Wednesday.
The Humberside club are currently 18th in the Premier League, having taken eight points from their opening ten games.
