Rank Group hopes to revitalise the bingo industry with its Mecca Bingo Full House clubs.
Rank Group chief executive Ian Burke has revealed how the company is attempting to change the landscape of the British bingo industry with its new Full House club concept. The new £5 million Mecca Bingo hall in the Nottingham suburb of Beeston is the first piece of Rank's plan - a 35,000 sq ft entertainment venue that features bar areas and high-quality food with table service, as well as the traditional bingo room.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mr Burke explained that the Full House club is designed to signal a revolution in how people enjoy bingo in the UK.
"Clearly this concept is quite different from anything else in the industry," he told the newspaper.
"If you want to play bingo in the traditional way, you can, but if you want to come in with a group of friends and not be told to be quiet then you also can."
According to Mr Burke, approximately 5,400 people play the numbers game at Mecca's Beeston venue each week, while rival firm Gala Bingo attracts about 6,000 players to its three clubs in Nottingham.
Mecca recently announced plans to relaunch its club in Catford, south London, as a Full House bingo venue in December.
