Napoleons Casino in Sheffield is preparing to install a new poker room in January, it has emerged.The Ecclesall Road gambling venue has been granted planning permission to carry out major refurbishment work, with its Four Seasons restaurant set to move to the ground floor of the three-storey property, the Sheffield Telegraph reports.
A 70-seater poker area offering regular tournaments and space for private hire functions will then be installed on the lower ground floor.
Mark Allen, group director of casino owners A&S Leisure, told the newspaper: "The new-look casino will greatly enhance the increasing offer of entertainment venues in and around the emerging Greystones quarter of Sheffield."
The family-run firm, which operates two casinos in Sheffield and other gambling venues in Leeds, Hull, Bradford and London, expects to complete the upgrade by May 2010.
Napoleons Ecclesall Road offers live roulette, blackjack and three-card poker gaming tables, as well as ten slot machines with £4,000 jackpots.
