One bookmaker has installed David Platt as second favourite to take over at Notts County
Bookmaker William Hill has reduced its odds on David Platt taking over as manager of Notts County following a £100 bet on the former Arsenal and England midfielder. The sports betting operator makes Platt the 4/1 second favourite for the job, with former Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini the current favourite at 7/2.
However, Sky Bet lengthened its odds on Mancini yesterday (October 13th) after the Italian's agent denied reports that he had been contacted about the vacant position at the League Two club.
"According to his agent there is no truth in the story so we have pushed Mancini's odds back out," explained Helen Jacob, the firm's football betting spokesperson.
Sky Bet currently makes former Leicester City boss Peter Taylor its 5/2 favourite for the Notts County role, with Sven-Goran Eriksson priced at 4/1.
Ian McParland was dismissed as manager at Meadow Lane earlier this week, sparking rumours that Eriksson, who is currently the Nottingham side's director of football, will take the reins.
