Bookmakers are offering reduced odds on a World Cup place for England's Peter Crouch.
Bookmakers have reduced their odds on Peter Crouch going to the World Cup next summer following his two goals for England at Wembley last night (October 13th).The Tottenham Hotspur striker took his international goal tally to 18 in 35 appearances as Fabio Capello's side beat Belarus 3-0, with Shaun Wright-Phillips also getting on the scoresheet.
Sky Bet cut its odds on Crouch making the 23-man squad for the World Cup finals from 4/6 to 1/3 after the game, while William Hill now makes him 6/5 to start England's opening game of the tournament.
"Crouch's impressive display last night now probably puts him ahead of the likes of Gabby Agbonlahor and Carlton Cole," said Sky Bet's football betting spokesperson Helen Jacob.
Meanwhile, William Hill makes Manchester United's Ben Foster 5/1 to start in goal for the first game of the World Cup following his clean sheet against Belarus.
England are third favourites to win the tournament at a general 6/1, behind Spain (9/2) and Brazil (5/1).
