Online sports betting operator Sky Bet has announced that it is returning all outright bets on Andy Murray at the ATP World Tour Finals last week.The British number one exited the tournament in unusual fashion on Thursday evening (November 26th), as the group stage came down to the percentage of games won.
He lost out by a single game to Juan Martin Del Potro after the Argentinian player beat Roger Federer, with the result causing confusion among players, officials and spectators at the O2 Arena in London.
Neil Brookes, Sky Bet's tennis betting spokesperson, said the firm had decided to offer a refund to punters who put money on Murray as "a goodwill gesture".
He added: "The confusion at the end of the Del Potro-Federer match left even Andy wondering what was going on."
Punters who bet on the 22-year-old Scot to win the tournament, reach the final or make it to the semi-finals will have their stake refunded as a free wager.
Meanwhile, Murray is now evens with Paddy Power to claim his first Grand Slam title in 2010.
