Casino operators acquired several items of Jackson memorabilia at a recent auction.
A casino and hotel in Macau is set to open a shrine to Michael Jackson after acquiring one of the late music star's iconic gloves.Hoffman Ma, deputy chief executive of the Ponte 16 gaming resort, paid $350,000 (£212,000) for the item at a sale of Jackson memorabilia in New York on Saturday (November 21st).
The casino operator also secured nine other lots at the auction, including a "zombie" shirt used by the singer in the famous video for his 1983 hit Thriller.
Jennie Yeung, a spokesperson for the Macau resort, told AFP that the casino now intends to create a special attraction for Jackson fans based in Asia.
Describing the Billie Jean star as "a legendary entertainer", she commented: "We're definitely planning to exhibit the glove with some of the other items we bought."
The rhinestone-studded glove was worn by Jackson during the first televised performance of his Moonwalk dance in 1983.
Ponte 16 is half-owned by Stanley Ho, the Macau casino tycoon.
