Developers plan to construct a leisure and entertainment venue featuring a new casino.
Developers have revealed plans for a new leisure resort in Ireland combining casino gaming with skiing facilities.Situated on a 29-acre site near Dundalk in County Louth, the 430 million (£388 million) complex could create about 1,500 new job opportunities, the Irish Times reports.
Sam Curran, one of the men behind the project, explained that the development has been planned in phases, with ski slopes appearing first and the casino set to be added at a later date.
"We've done very extensive work over the last 30 months to fine-tune what we include in our plans," he told the newspaper.
As well as the ski centre and gambling venue, the complex will feature an 110,000 sq ft concert arena and a surf and swim centre, alongside several restaurants and bars.
The first phase of the development, which will be privately funded, is expected to open in early 2011.
Last month, the BBC reported on plans for a major new gambling complex in County Tipperary, where developers hope to build a casino, a golf course and a replica of the White House.
