A £4.5 million move has been planned for the Grosvenor Casino in Sheffield.
The Grosvenor Casino in Sheffield will close and reopen under a new guise next month, it has emerged.According to the Sheffield Telegraph, the venue is set to become a G Casino in a £4.5 million development that will also involve moving into an adjacent building.
The casino is due to reopen on the former site of a Mecca Bingo club next door from December 9th, with 50 new jobs being created as a result of the switch.
General manager Ian Turver told the newspaper that the new-look gambling venue should provide people in the South Yorkshire city with "a great alternative for a night out".
He explained that the G Casino brand is based on providing a range of entertainment options in addition to the gaming tables.
"This means the new venue will appeal to many different types of people, whether they've been to a casino before or not," Mr Turver added.
Earlier this month, Rank Group opened a new G Casino branch in Coventry following a £1.6 million refurbishment of the former Isle of Capri venue in the Ricoh Arena.
