Fulham's Roy Hodgson is in the frame for the Olympic football job

Sports betting firms make Hodgson odds-on to manage the Great Britain team in 2012.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is currently the bookmakers' favourite to lead the Great Britain football team at the 2010 Olympic Games in London.

William Hill makes the 62-year-old manager odds-on to be given the role at 8/15, with Stuart Pearce second favourite at 9/4 and Fabio Capello a 16/1 bet.

On Thursday (November 12th), the Daily Express reported that Olympic chiefs have already made informal inquiries about Hodgson's availability for the job.

The former Blackburn Rovers boss was recently named the Premier League's manager of the month for October, having overseen an unbeaten run at Fulham that included victory over Liverpool and a draw against Italian giants Roma.

Commenting on the Olympic betting market, William Hill spokesperson Graham Sharpe said: "Few could argue that Hodgson has done a tremendous job at Fulham, but there are a few other contenders with strong claims."

Last season, Hodgson guided Fulham to seventh in the Premier League - the west London club's highest ever finish - and brought European football to Craven Cottage by qualifying for the Europa League.
