Bookmakers reveals odds for Premier League title race.
Defending champions Manchester United's title odds have been cut from 9/4 to 2/1 second favourites for the Premier League title by bookmakers William Hill.United secured victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford last night (Tuesday December 15th) to move level on points with Chelsea who host former manager Avram Grant's Portsmouth this evening.
Chelsea are favourites to win the league at 8/11, while odds on Aston Villa have been cut from 100/1 to 66/1.
Meanwhile, the bookmakers have responded to Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez's claims that his side are "guaranteed" to finish in the top four. The Merseyside club are 6/5 to do so and 8/13 to fail.
"Rafa is making himself a hostage to fortune by making risky predictions of this nature," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
He added that the bookmakers was "far from convinced" that his prediction would prove to be right.
