Sports betting fans may be tempted to bet on Button
Sports betting company William Hill is offering odds of 10/11 on Jenson Button being named BBC Sports Personality of the Year.As such, he is the favourite to take home the title at this year's ceremony.
However, in a statement, the organisation explained that previous years have seen "seeming-unbeatable" favourites pipped at the post and beaten to the title by other sporting figures.

Examples of this occurring include Rebecca Adlington not winning last year and Lewis Hamilton failing to claim victory in 2008, despite both being listed as favourites.
Commenting on the news, Graham Sharpe, a spokesperson for William Hill, said: "This year, there has been a big gamble on Ryan Giggs from 100/1 to 5/2 - and maybe he or World Champion heptahlete Jessica Ennis could be the one to keep the 'curse of the favourite' going."
The current Sports Personality of the Year is Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy.
