Poker To Be Played Virtually Through Your TV?

Poker fans could be set to benefit from developments in technology.

Poker players could soon be able to enjoy playing the game virtually through their television sets, it has been suggested.

At the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung used poker as an example of how its development of downloadable apps could be used across technologies including mobile phones, computes and - perhaps most intriguingly for poker fans - televisions.



The electronics company suggested that the apps could allow interaction between a consumer's mobile phone and their television. Users would be able to play virtual poker using the television as the table and their handsets to view cards and control the game.

The Korean company announced that some apps will be included with its sets and some will become available for download through use of the integrated Wi-Fi free of charge from this spring.

Online poker players may enjoy the added element of realism that the use of their flatscreen television could provide.
