Sports betting firm Sky Bet has revealed odds for Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland to make the England squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.Kirkland, who has one cap for England, is available at odds of 6/1 to make Fabio Capello's final cut this summer.
The 28-year-old is 25/1 to start for his country in their opening game of the tournament against the USA.
Portsmouth keeper David James is Sky Bet's 10/11 favourite to be England's number one on the day, Birmingham stopper Joe Hart is offered at 5/2 and West Ham's Robert Green is 3/1.
Sky Bet's football betting spokesman Tim Reynolds said: "Kirkland has missed a lot of chances to prove his credentials due to an on-going back problem and it would be a big surprise to see him taken out to South Africa over the likes of James, Hart or Green."
Kirkland's father and family friends placed bets of £100 each at 100/1 odds that he would play for England before the age of thirty, when he was only 11 years old and his appearance netted the syndicate £10,000 each when he appeared against Greece in 2006.
