Online bookmakers are offering 25/1 on the UK to take the Eurovision crown.

A number of online bookmakers have the UK listed among the outsiders to take the 2010 Eurovision title.

With tickets for the live grand final on sale from February 8th, the countdown to the event in May is officially on.

And while the UK's entry is to be written by one of the pop industry's most successful figures of all time, Pete Waterman, the online bookmakers still do not rate its chances.

Both William Hill and Boylesports list the UK at odds of 25/1.

Waterman, who has worked with the likes of Geri Halliwell and Kylie Minogue, tells the BBC that he is up to the task of winning over the UK's European neighbours.

"Life's full of challenges and I'm relishing the opportunity to put my own stamp on this one," he recently told the broadcaster.

While life is full of surprises, Waterman could have his work cut out for him if he is to equal or better last year's entry, Jade Ewen, whose fifth-place finish was the UK's best in nearly ten years.
