Bookmakers asks if UK will get any points at Eurovision

Bookmakers provides odds for this year's Eurovision.

Online bookmakers William Hill has revealed the latest odds for this year's Eurovision song contest.

The UK has flopped in the competition in recent years and in an effort to turn things around TV programme Your Country Needs You was launched to try and give the public more say on who represents the country.

Songwriter Peter Waterman penned this year's tune and six contenders are in the running to make it their own, but despite this, William Hill makes the UK twice as likely to score no points as to win.

A score of nil points is offered at odds of 16/1, whereas a surprise win is available at 33/1.

"We don't think the UK can do anymore to improve our chances of winning than they did last year and sadly there is more chance that the UK will get zero than hero," said William Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
