The general election date is in the spotlight at one bookmakers.
Bookmakers William Hill has announced that May 6th is currently the hot favourite date for when the UK's general election will be held.Odds of 1/20 for May 6th are available to those who wish to have a bet on when the country will head to the polling stations.
William Hill slashed its odds from 1/6 to 1/20, while the odds for any other date have been lengthened from 7/2 to 8/1.
The bookmakers has also asserted its confidence that the Tories are current favourites to take power.
Odds of 8/13 are available for those who want to take a gamble on the Conservatives enjoying a clear, overall majority.
Such an occurrence for the Labour party has odds of 8/1.
Commenting on election day, Graham Sharpe, William Hill's spokesman, said: "It is difficult now to make a case for an election on any date other than May 6th."
Labour prime minister Gordon Brown announced the Budget will be revealed on March 24th.
