Bookmakers asks: United for a silverware treble?
Bookmakers William Hill has revealed the latest odds for Manchester United's race for silverware this season.Sir Alex Ferguson's men secured a 2-1 Carling Cup final success against Aston Villa at Wembley yesterday (February 28th) and will be hoping to add two more to the trophy cabinet come May.
United are now available at odds of 10/1 to seal a treble-trophy haul of Carling Cup, Premier League and Champions League and 11/8 favourites for the league title.
Bitter rivals Manchester City helped the Red Devils' title cause with a 4-2 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and the London club have seen their title chances move from 8/13 to 6/4.
"Chelsea's thrashing threw the title chase wide open again," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Meanwhile, the United manager is a 7/2 chance to quit Old Trafford during 2010, 5/2 to do so during 2011 and 10/3 to depart in 2012.
