Sports Betting Firm Asks: Rooney To Head England Towards Victory?

Sports betting firm Sky Bet has revealed odds ahead of England's friendly fixture against Egypt at Wembley this evening (March 3rd).

The national team will be hoping for a good performance in preparation for this summer's World Cup in South Africa and will be confident of a result with free-scoring Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney likely to start.

Odds of 21/20 are available for Rooney to hit the back of the net in an England win, while it is 4/1 for the player to net his seventh consecutive goal with his head and 5/6 that he does not get on the scoresheet.

Sky Bet's football betting spokesman Tim Reynolds said: "Following Wayne Bridge's retirement from international football and with Ashley Cole injured, [the] match gives Capello the perfect opportunity to have a look the vacant left-back position."

He added that it provides Capello with a chance to test out both Leighton Baines and Stephen Warnock ahead of naming his 2010 World Cup squad.
