Sports Betting Firm Asks: Will Bridge Reconsider?

Bookmakers reveals Bridge future

Sports betting fans asked if Wayne Bridge will appear for England.

Sports betting firm Sky Bet has opened a market on a possible change of heart from Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge about his England future.

Bridge announced last week that he did not wish to make himself available for selection for Fabio Capello's England squad and with Ashley Cole injured his decision left the country to speculate about other left backs that could suit the role.

Sky Bet offers odds of 14/1 for Bridge to start in the country's opening game of the 2010 World Cup against the USA.

Dale Tempest, Sky Bet's football betting spokesman, said: "Capello can be a very difficult man to turn down so you never know, perhaps Bridge will reconsider."

Terry's offer of a handshake was turned down by Bridge at the weekend, with the left back apparently upset about the Chelsea defender's lack of remorse about allegations that he had an affair with Bridge's former partner.
