United Second Favourites To Take Treble

Beating AC Milan 4-0 has confirmed United's treble odds.

Manchester United beat AC Milan 4-0 last night (March 10th), giving them the green light to head into the quarter-final of the Champions League.

Wayne Rooney scored a header in the first half, despite AC Milan enjoying dominant possession until the half-time whistle.

After three further goals from the Red Devils put the tie to bed, William Hill has now placed the side as second favourites to win the prestigious trophy, with odds of 7/2.

Their recent strong performances have resulted in odds of 10/1 being offered by the bookmakers for them to take the treble of the FA cup, Premier League and Champions League.

Rooney has also booked himself a position at the top of William Hill's table for top Champions League scorer, with his odds slashed from 14/1 to 11/4.

And the odds for an all-premier league final for the European Cup now stand at 11/4.

"The English teams are beginning to look the sides to beat," commented William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe.
