Bookmakers asks if English teams will fare better in Europe next year.

Bookmakers provides odds for how English clubs will do in Europe next year.

Sports betting fans may wish to have a punt on how English teams will fare in next season's Champions League, following Manchester United's departure from the competition last night (April 7th).

This year is the first time since 2004 that an English club has failed to make the final of the tournament and the semi finals will be fought out between teams from France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Odds of 5/2 are available for no Premier League team to make the semi finals next year and the favourite at 2/1 is for one team to reach at least that stage of the competition.

"It looks as though the golden age of Premier League teams in the Champions League may be over for a while," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Barcelona are the favourites to win the trophy for a second year running at 4/5, while Lyon are an outside bet at 6/1.
