A snooker player who works for O2 could be on the radar of bookmakers.
A 27-year-old budding snooker player who works as an account manager for O2 could be on the radar of bookmakers up and down the country.James Beaton was spotted in a Warrington pub and the mobile phone network operator employee in Preston Brook has been chosen to play in a tournament.
At the end of the month he will take part in the World and Master Black Ball Pool Tournament to be held in Yorkshire.
A scout recruiting players for the Cheshire team spotted the father of two in his local The Lord Rodney.
Since then, Mr Beaton has been named as Cheshire captain and has been selected by Ireland.
He said this will mean he cannot represent England, "but it was a tremendous honour to be selected by the Irish team, who are giving me the opportunity of going straight into the A team and playing some of the best players around".
The Preston Brook O2 site has pool tables, which could have helped Mr Beaton sharpen his skills during his breaks.
