Bookmakers reveals odds for when Wayne Rooney will return to on-the-pitch action.
Sports betting fans could wish to have a punt on this summer's World Cup action and England star striker Wayne Rooney.Bookmakers William Hill has opened a book about when the Manchester United hitman will return to action following his ongoing ankle problems.
The PFA Player of the Year is offered at odds of 10/3 to make an appearance at the Stadium of Light on Sunday (May 2nd) versus Sunderland and is 5/4 to get on the pitch during United's final home fixture against Stoke City.
England fans might be hoping that he does not play again until the Three Lions begin their preparations for the World Cup against Mexico. It is 8/11 that he appears next in that game.
"Everyone is desperate to believe that Rooney will be fit for the World Cup but uncertainty about when he will play his next game is making everyone wonder whether he will be," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
