Bookmakers have avoided a large payout.
Bookmakers across the country have avoided large payouts as two horses tipped by the prime minister (PM) failed to win yesterday (May 27th).David Cameron was asked by BBC Radio 4 Today to suggest two horses he tipped to win and selected Daring Dream at Ayr and Midnight Fantasy at Wolverhampton.
Bookmakers reported that a flurry of bets followed his suggestions.
"Had both of Mr Cameron's horses won, bookies would have paid out over £1million to winning punters who followed his tips," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Punters were so keen to back the PM's tips the bookmakers had to create a special section on its website enabling people to place bets on both horses.
William Hill placed a charity bet on the two horses and has announced it will donate the £600 stake to a charity of Mr Cameron's choice.
Cameron and his family are soon set to move in to 11 Downing Street, where Tony Blair and his family previously lived.
