Bookmakers provides latest general election odds.
Bookmakers William Hill has revealed the latest odds following yesterday's (May 6th) general election.Conservatives leader David Cameron is the 1/6 favourite to become the next prime minister on June 1st, while it is 7/2 for Gordon Brown to remain in office and 33/1 that Nick Clegg takes the post.
Pressure is mounting on Mr Brown to resign as Labour leader and it is 2/5 that he does so before Saturday and 7/4 he does not.
"The results have made it somewhat difficult to work out who is likely to form the next government," said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
He added that punters are already betting on a second general election this year.
The bookmakers has made a second 2010 general election available at odds of 7/4.
William Hill believes if this was to occur then up to £40 million will have been gambled on the two polls.
