James Corden is a 25/1 chance to be the next Doctor Who.
Bookmakers have cut the odds on Matt Smith being sacked by the BBC from his role as Doctor Who.William Hill has slashed the price of the corporation dropping the actor from 6/1 to 9/2 on the back of poor viewing figures.
The biggest mover in the market of potential replacements is James Corden, who has had his odds shortened from 100/1 to 25/1.
However, punters preparing to place a wager may wish to consider Smith and his co-stars were up against coverage of the World Cup and popular show Sunny Skies.
But, should he go, odds on the next Doctor are on offer, with David Morrissey the favourite at odds of 4/1.
Following him is 5/1 shot Chiwetel Ejiofor, any female at 8/1 and Patterson Joseph, who is 10/1.
Outsiders for the role include John Barrowman (50/1), Alan Davies (25/1) and David Walliams (14/1).
The previous Doctor was David Tennant, who has recently taken a leading part in 2011 film Fright Night.
