An international footballer was knocked out of a world poker tournament at the weekend.
Manchester United star Darren Fletcher is currently in Las Vegas indulging in his second passion - poker. The Scotland captain is using his summer break - courtesy of the country not qualifying for this month's World Cup in South Africa - to enjoy games at the tables of the Nevada city.
On Friday (June 4th), he and his friends competed in the World Series of Poker's eleventh event of the current tour.
Unfortunately for Fletcher, he was forced to withdraw from the game after losing all of his chips in little more than an hour.
"The big story was me walking into a royal flush when I had flopped a set of kings," the midfielder said.
Fletcher took up poker five years ago and has progressed at a pace that allowed him to be one of the 2,500 or so players picked for the World Series.
Another famous face who is a regular at casino tables in the US is chat show host Ricki Lake.
