People who use casinos to play poker will be able to do so at four new venues in Ohio from 2012 and 2013.
A number of regulations that will affect casino visitors in Ohio have been passed by the US Senate. The bill, which finally went through at approximately 04:00 local time on Friday (June 4th), was approved by 86 votes to 12 in the House before winning 21 of 33 available votes in the Senate.
It relates to four new super casinos that are due to open in the state in 2012 and 2013.
Each will now be required to offer entry only to those older than 21, while they must also stop serving alcohol at 02:30 local time.
Another result of the bill is the establishment of a committee, made up of seven members, to regulate and license the four complexes.
Progress in Ohio, where new facilities to play poker, roulette and other games are just two years away, is in contrast to Delaware, where it was announced last week that new developments must be put on hold until 2011.
