Murray's Odds Tumble Following Latest Wimbledon Win

The first and second favourites will face each other in the Wimbledon semi-final.

British number one Andy Murray's odds on winning Wimbledon have been slashed by bookmakers following his latest triumph.

The Scot defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in four sets on Centre Court yesterday (June 30th) to reach the semi-final.

Sports betting fans may now be interested to learn that 888sport.com is offering 9/4 on Murray claiming his first grand slam.

But the man he faces in the last four, Rafael Nadal, is the 6/5 favourite for the tournament, with his odds likely to have shortened since Roger Federer's exit.

With the importance of the semi-final clash clear, sports betting website users could place a wager on the outcome of Friday's match.

The Spaniard is 4/7 to knock out Murray, who is 5/4 to overcome another of the world's top players.

This year's Wimbledon championships are likely to be remembered for the marathon match between Nicolas Mahut and John Isner, when the fifth set ended 70-68 in the American's favour.
