Knocking down the bingo hall could improve access to Dudley Zoo.
Online bingo may now be a particularly popular hobby in Dudley, after the town came to terms with the loss of its bingo hall. The Birmingham Mail reports Dudley Council has now assumed control of the closed down venue, as well as the neighbouring Royal Brierley Crystal site.
It is thought the authority will now redevelop the buildings, which stand in the way of two of the location's major tourist attractions – the zoo and Castle Hill.
"This comprehensive development could include a new joint access and arrival area between Dudley Zoological Gardens, the Black Country Living Museum on the Tipton Road and Dudley Canal Trust," the council tells the newspaper.
While it may be good news for the other facilities, bingo players may have been forced on to the internet or to neighbouring towns.
Another factor that may have tempted bingo fans on to the web is the recent weather, with the majority of the UK experiencing heavy snowfall and the Met Office launching a series of severe weather warnings.
