Aaron Steury picked up a WSOP win in Las Vegas.
American poker player Aaron Steury has become the latest competitor to bag a major title at the current World Series in Las Vegas.World Series of Poker (WSOP) is hosting the event, which runs for more than a month and features some 53 events.
Steury triumphed in the $1,500 buy-in H.O.R.S.E Championship over the weekend, beating a huge field of 963 poker players.
The 24-year-old picked up a coveted WSOP gold bracelet for his success, which was only the ninth time he has cashed on the tour.
Indiana-based Steury also took home a cash prize of $289,283 (£177,921) as a reward for overcoming the challenges posed by his fellow finalists.
WSOP noted that many of those who reached the final stages of the event were inexperienced and unfamiliar, but certainly not lacking in skill.
Two residents of Rochdale, Lancashire have recently won contests at the World Series, triggering a short spell of British dominance.
