WSOP has crowned another tour winner.
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has described its latest champion Bertrand Grospellier as the game's answer to pop star Lady Gaga.Grospellier has this week secured victory in the $10,000 buy-in Seven-Card Stud World Championship, putting to an end a "preposterous series of letdowns" on the tour.
He attracted the comparison from poker tournament bosses because of his flamboyant style, worldwide appeal and extreme talent.
WSOP suggested the Frenchman, who now lives in London, is somebody who instantly attracts attention whenever he enters a room.
"Maybe it's the hair, maybe it's his towering stature, maybe it's his rock star lifestyle," mused the poker organisation.
Grospellier now finally has a WSOP gold bracelet to his name, thanks to his triumph in the 21st event of the World Series that was also entered by a host of other top professionals.
The World Series is scheduled to continue in Las Vegas until July 7th.
