The Isle of Man, which has an excellent reputation as an online gambling regulator, has confirmed that it will now offer a new licensing opportunity for business-to-business services.Under the existing Online Gambling Regulation Act of 2001, there are provisions to allow for the new Network Services License.
The new level of license was created to recognize the increasing importance of business-to-business relationships within the online gambling industry.
Garth Kimber, head of e-Gaming development for the Isle of Man government, commented: "The introduction of this level of license gives us the ability to satisfy every model of gaming business in the Isle of Man from those selling their platform capabilities to other businesses to those with direct customers."
He added: "Our system is now in three tiers; Network Services License, Standard License and Sub-License."
It has been confirmed that in order to obtain the new license designation, a business must pay £50,000 per year plus £5,000 per offshore patron.
