Casino operations in Sussex county, Delaware, are set to become more restricted than was first thought. This is because officials are hoping to restrict the activities of casinos to major highways only, assuming the state actually approves gaming.
The report comprises of studies that they had conducted, known as "community impact" studies.
Using these studies, the officials hope to demonstrate that the impact of a casino in the area would be negligible.
"Those are large roads which have sufficient highway capacity," council members George Cole. "Those roads can't handle what they've got."
Elsewhere, David Nunes, a Colorado developer hoping to build a casino in Milford, has moved nearer to putting a question on the November 2012 ballot asking voters to approve casino gambling in Massachusetts.
Mr Nunes filed an initiative petition with the attorney general's office that would allow casino gambling at three locations in the state.
While state lawmakers are set to take up the casino debate in the fall, a ballot question would represent something of an insurance policy in case a bill is not passed.
