Speaking to the Associated Press, Colleen Flanagan, a spokeswoman for governor Dannel P Malloy, explained that the assessments for state police, liquor control agents and auditors at the casinos have been reduced by $4.5 million (£2.8 million).
According to Ms Flanagan, the reduction forms part of a broader ambition to delegate more responsibility to the tribes.
"We want to both demonstrate our respect for their sovereignty while ensuring protection of the state's significant interests in the operation of the casinos and the safety of their visitors," she explained to the news provider.
The two Connecticut casinos receive tens of thousands of daily visitors.
