Plans For Milton Keynes Casino Put On Hold

Proposals to construct a casino in the Xscape building in Milton Keynes have been deferred by the council, it has been confirmed.

Online poker players may be among those interested to learn that the decision was reached after the detail the council asked for back in 2009 was not presented.

Two years ago, the council announced that planning permission was granted subject to a transport assessment.

But rather than presenting this detail, the bidder X-Leisure opted to put in a new planning application.

Elsewhere in the UK, Southend's Park Inn Palace Hotel could soon see the creation of a new casino facility, with plans expected to be given the go-ahead in the coming weeks.

Southend Council have recommended the bid, meaning that two floors of the iconic hotel at the seaside resort may soon be turned into a 24-hour gambling paradise.

Assuming the plans come to fruition, the new facility will be the seaside resort’s third casino.
