A group of gaming enthusiasts in the north-west gathered recently for a one-off casino night to raise money for local charities, online poker players may be interested to know.The punters raised an impressive £1,120 for a number of worthy causes, including the David Cole Training Fund for oncology nurses and the Strawberry Hotel in Burrow.
Although the event was advertised as a black tie affair, punters were encouraged to embrace the Las Vegas theme of the evening.
To this end, the organisers arranged an appearance from an Elvis Presley impersonator, as well as a number of up-and-coming acts from the local area.
Furthermore, the tables were worked by professional croupiers, with punters encouraged to play at the many roulette, blackjack and poker tables that were set up.
Meanwhile, Phil Urban, the managing director of Grosvesor Casino, recently said that the firm is determined to build on its success in 2012, having enjoyed a very profitable last 12 months.
