Kentucky Gambling Bill Delayed By Bureaucracy

Steve Beshear, the governor of Kentucky, has confirmed that questions over legislative redistricting has meant that his casino gambling bill is to be delayed.

Earlier this week, the governor said that he expected the bill to be introduced in a short time.

While he confirmed that the bill is complete and ready for release, Mr Beshear refused to discuss the specific details of it, online poker players and others may be interested to know.

But speaking after a news conference concerning the issue, he explained: "This whole place is mired down in redistricting right now."

In the UK, meanwhile, Genting Stanley announced recently that it plans to construct a new casino facility at the NEC in Birmingham.

The ambitious plans have already been recommended for approval by planning officers.

For the cool price of £120 million, the firm hopes to build a ten-screen cinema, restaurants and a new hotel, in addition to a spa facility.
