Canadian poker star Daniel Negreanu has revealed that an email hacker has cost him an eye-watering $61,000 (£38,832) in prize money.Negreanu, 37, had the money stolen from his PokerStars account, with the perpetrator of the crime using the Canadian's money to play online.
"I got the news back pretty quickly that the hacker did get into my account for a joyride," he said.
"Something I'll never understand. He didn't dump money to any one specific player, he kind of just sprayed my money around several tables, ultimately losing $61,000 of my money."
Negreanu expressed surprise that the perpetrator didn't try to empty his PokerStars account completely, though he's thankful that didn't happen.
Police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter.
Negreanu, meanwhile, has already confirmed that he has a punishment in mind, telling his Twitter followers that the guilty party should get a "few swift baseball bat swings to the groin area".
